Human Rights Education and Seminars
In order to advance human rights in Iraq, the Kirkuk Center offers training courses and seminars on human rights and the consequences of their violation on the individual as well as on the social level.
Reaching out to Iraq’s civil society we offer free of charge workshops adapted to the particular needs of
- children and adolescents (children’s rights and non-violent solutions for conflict)
- women (women’s rights and their protection)
- parents (basic needs of children and non-violent education)
- men (dealing with aggression and social problems).
Our pedagogues, social workers, therapists and medical doctors team up to visit schools, universities, juvenile and women’s prisons and set up discussion groups in rural areas in order to promote human rights and their implementation on the grassroots level.
As fundamental human rights are still being widely ignored on a social and political level, our teams offer seminars, information events and counseling for
- pedagogical staff and teachers
- social workers
- health care specialists
- public officials
- governmental institutions (e.g. prisons) and universities
- non-governmental institutions
